Weirdness
In my case, the problem is that, without discussing my current obsession (which I have learned to avoid), I really don’t have much I want to say. As a result, I am quiet much of the time. Not many people are interested in nominalism and poststructuralism. In teaching my classes, I can always weave these subjects into my lectures, which makes giving them very enjoyable.
Others would say, “What are you smiling at?” Actually, I was simply daydreaming. I had no idea of what the other person was talking about.
I like sameness, but not as much as my father. He is now in an assisted living facility with his own suite, but the staff are there to help him whenever he presses a pager around his neck. However, when they have tried to help him, he gets very angry – even trying to hit some staff members. He has also become very disruptive. His behavior used to drive my (late) mother crazy, and he is now in danger of being kicked out of the place.
